The Conference will take place from May 10 to 12 in the Konzerthaus Freiburg and offers an international platform over 200 visitors each year, to discuss the current development of deep geothermal energy. With a short course and several workshops on the first day, the Congress on the second day, and two or three excursions on the last day, the Conference offers a varied program, which can be put together individually. A framework programme with the opening lounge and business dinner round off the offer and make the event an ideal networking event. The focus of the first day of the IGC 2011 are among other things the implementation of EGS projects, the potential in the pump technology and project reports from the United States, of Switzerland and other countries. On the second day, the day of the Congress, will be in forums including discussion about the risk potential and challenges of seismic events, the future of the EEG, concessions, and legal frameworks and requests the financing of Geothermieprojekten. On the third day, participants have the opportunity to deepen individual thematic areas through field trips to Geothermieprojekten in the upper Rhine. The meeting provides a comprehensive exchange on the current challenges of deep geothermal energy thanks to the international orientation and the german English simultaneous translation and this gives important impulses for the further development of this promising renewable energy technology. The international Geothermiekonferenz is organised by the Agency Enerchange. The Freiburg economy is tourism and trade fair GmbH & co. KG as a business – and marketing company of the city of Freiburg since 2008 co-organizer of the Conference. As a cooperation partner for the IGC of 2011, the German Energy Agency (dena), the Economic Forum of geothermal energy and the international geothermal could inter alia Association (IGA) are obtained.
